COVID-19 General Information
COMMUNICATION PROCESS IN THE EVENT OF POSITIVE CASES
COMMUNICATION PROCESS IN THE EVENT OF POSITIVE CASES
In the event there is a positive case, affected individuals will be contacted directly by our district nurse and they will receive a letter that may include quarantine/self isolation directions and other important information. Families of students who are not affected will not receive a notification letter and no action will be required. The District will communicate new cases directly to their school communities. Please note that our District will only communicate and provide data for confirmed COVID-19 cases.
LJSD COVID-19 REPORTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR FAMILIES
LJSD COVID-19 REPORTING INSTRUCTIONS FOR FAMILIES
Please complete the LJSD Student Health/Wellness Screening each morning before your child leaves for school. If your student(s) is suspected or confirmed to have COVID-19, it must be reported to your school directly with the Principal or school Office Manager. LJSD schools and staff will maintain confidentiality and protect student privacy, following all FERPA protocols.
WHAT FAMILIES CAN DO TO LIMIT THE SPREAD
WHAT FAMILIES CAN DO TO LIMIT THE SPREAD
It is going to take a concerted effort to keep our students, staff and families safe. In addition to health and safety measures taken on our campuses, we encourage families to be proactive and to reinforce the importance of proper hygiene such as hand-washing, physical distancing, and face coverings to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Families will find information/instructional videos available on our website to help you understand what you can do to help limit the spread and promote a safe and healthy school and home. Also, if a member of your household tests positive for COVID-19 or is awaiting test results, please keep your child at home and notify your school Principal. If your child has any symptoms associated with the coronavirus make sure they stay home and get tested if necessary.
Anyone with symptoms consistent with COVID-19 should follow the CDC guidelines, which are to remain at home in isolation for a minimum of 10 days plus at least 24 hours after resolution of fever (without fever-reducing medication) and improvement of other symptoms. A doctor's note will be required to return to school. Finally, keep children home when they are sick. Schools will work with students and families to maintain confidentiality and to help continue your student's education.
